Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) applies to and users of Inbox Design's School Products, such as, but not limited to:

  • SchoolPoint
  • SchoolBridge
  • SchoolSite

This Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) outlines the standards for acceptable use of and Inbox Design services (hereafter “the Application”). By accessing or using these Applications, users agree to comply with this AUP, which is designed to ensure a safe, secure, and productive environment for all stakeholders.

1. Purpose
​The Application is intended for educational purposes, including teaching, learning, administration, and collaboration within New Zealand’s education system. Any usage contrary to these objectives is strictly prohibited.


2. Applicability
This AUP applies to all users of the Application, including but not limited to:

  • Students
  • Teachers
  • Administrators
  • Parents/Caregivers
  • Other authorised users


3. Prohibited Activities
​Users must not engage in any activities that:

3.1 Illegal Activities

  •     Violate any applicable New Zealand laws, including but not limited to the Harmful Digital Communications Act, the Privacy Act, or the Crimes Act.
  •     Promote, share, or distribute illegal content.

3.2 Security and Integrity

  •     Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Application, its data, or related systems.
  •     Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Application, including the transmission of viruses, malware, or other malicious software.
  •     Misuse user credentials (e.g., sharing passwords or impersonating others).

3.3 Content and Communication

  •     Share or publish offensive, defamatory, or discriminatory content, including hate speech, bullying, or harassment.
  •     Use the Application to disseminate spam, phishing attempts, or unsolicited messages.

3.4 Privacy and Data Protection

  •     Access, collect, or disclose personal information without proper authorisation or consent.
  •     Violate the privacy of other users by sharing sensitive information, images, or recordings without explicit permission.

3.5 Misuse of Resources

  •     Use the Application for non-educational commercial activities, such as advertising or soliciting.
  •     Engage in excessive or inappropriate use that compromises the performance or availability of the Application.


4. Responsibilities of Users

4.1 Safeguarding Access

  •     Use strong, secure passwords and keep account credentials confidential.
  •     Immediately report suspected breaches of security or unauthorised access to administrators.

4.2 Respectful Conduct

  •     Communicate respectfully and professionally.
  •     Foster an inclusive environment in alignment with New Zealand’s educational values.

4.3 Adherence to Guidelines

  •     Follow any additional policies, codes of conduct, or guidelines set by educational institutions using the Application.


5. Monitoring and Enforcement

5.1 Monitoring

  • The Application may monitor user activity to ensure compliance with this AUP. Monitoring will be conducted in accordance with New Zealand’s privacy laws.

5.2 Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  •     Temporary or permanent suspension of access to the Application.
  •     Notification to the user’s educational institution or employer.
  •     Legal action, if warranted.


6. Reporting Violations

Suspected violations of this AUP should be reported immediately via [Insert Contact Information]. Reports will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act and related policies.


7. Updates to this Policy

This AUP may be updated periodically. Users will be notified of significant changes and are encouraged to review the policy regularly.
By using the Application, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Acceptable Usage Policy.
